it was a windy rainy night
but the guests arrived dressed to the nines
the bar was over the fireplace
the mantle served quite well
i am left with food and drink
for 25 people still
cream puffs and crackers
brownies and brie
cadbury and box o' joe
dancing around
reading Tristan and Totor
as the "band" played on
we continued to pour
as the bubbles rose from the floor
not a sip more
