if i can find some beauty in the image
if i can find that beauty within myself
and the people that i know
if i can love without fear
and realize my courage in the morning
not hide in the night and lonely darkness of the day
if i can rise with the doves' singing
then i will live

and maybe others will join me
in the hollow
beneath the willow
on the horizon
to lay on the earth
watching the heavens
palm to palm

then i live

i love my gadgets
and gizmoes
don't need plenty
just a few

sometimes i think of you
not knowing what to do
should i call
should i write
will everything between us
be alright

down to the wire
i'm not working so hard
out of this room
determine to go

all the things i want to do
paint and write and read
when will i accomplish my goals
where will annapurna lead

it was a windy rainy night
but the guests arrived dressed to the nines
the bar was over the fireplace
the mantle served quite well
i am left with food and drink
for 25 people still
cream puffs and crackers
brownies and brie
cadbury and box o' joe
dancing around
reading Tristan and Totor
as the "band" played on
we continued to pour
as the bubbles rose from the floor
not a sip more
